My First Scarf

My first scarf

In the autumn of 2005 I first picked up knitting again. I had a few attempts when small but this came to nothing. I was not a patient child and knitting was something a bit too complicated. I got the knit/purl thing, but knitted too tight. After attempt three failed with not being able to get my needle through the stitch on the other needle. I gave up.
Until 2005. In the spring of that year the Hema, a very cool Dutch shop, had very funny looking kits to make stuff yourself. There was a make your own slipper set out of felt and a mobile out of wood and a scarf out off wool. I was tempted but didn't buy it. In the autumn they had their sale and I saw the Knit-a-scarf kit again. This time I bougth it. It was very easy to knit and my mom helped me as the instructions for casting on where vage. The yarn was easy to knit and it was fun and easy to do. I 'm still very proud of my first project.
